This group kicks major butt

I so dig this song! I can't stop playing it. I heard it on XM Radio (Channel 81, BPM) and could not get it out of my head. Finding them online took some effort, but I did manage to purchase the song on iTunes!

Mavie's voice is absolutely beautiful, and I wish Andain would make a complete album!

Cyberling - The Power To Get It Done.

Great idea for mobile software. I've got a co-worker using 2action, and the quality of his meeting notes is amazing. Sloppy meeting documentation really hampers team efficiency, and this tool helps tremendously with that. Too bad they don't support the Mac. No business from me...

And ideas aren't worth the paper they are printed on

Not that I claim to be a smart ass or anything, but years ago (during my days founding StoryCatcher.com) I had the idea of a site to trade media.

The problem with this idea was the business model. You could charge for brokering the transacation, ala eBay or PayPal, but at the time micro-payments were not a validated business model. Membership fees were another optional, but how many people would want to pay yet another membership fee for an online service?

Well, I guess someone thinks that the model might work in late 2004. I read about this company in Wired, and went to take a look. I like this idea more than Friendster, orkut (which I am a member of) or any other "social networking" system because this idea is grounded in a social medium (music and movies) that forces people to come together in the physical realm (to swap). The only other social network that does this without being completely specialized (in a specific hobby) are dating sites.

Anyway, I'll probably give this one a try and report back!

Finally found the Acura TL enthusiasts!!

Woo hoo! I found the Acura TL enthusiast community!! I'm pretty darned stoked about this, as I've got so many questions about my car.

Oh yeah, to set the context for this post, in late January I bought a dark blue 2004 Acura TL 6-speed. I've already set some personal land speed records with it ;-)

A long week

Ever have one of those weeks where Tuesday's end feels like Friday night? It's one of those weeks for me. I'm covering for team members at work, so my normally hectic days are twice so. It's interesting getting to see what other people do with their days, but some times you just don't want to know ;-)

Just so that it is clear, web development can be frustrating. I love HTML, but the "language" is so frustrating. Table borders are a great example. If you turn on table borders, all borders (perimeter and interior cells) get borders. What if I only want the perimeter to get borders? Nope. And then there are tags that only work in Netspace versus IE? Arrghh!

Yes, it is the first day Doom 3 is available and I don't own it. Why not, you ask? Because if I buy it, I will play it for days and skip everything else in my life. While that little trick worked when I was 18, it doesn't seem to fly with the "Man". Or my "woman" ;-)
